EU 2021, mural with mosaic tiles.

A flag of the European Union, whose two initials EU recall and are the same as my name. The flag of the European Union was conceived on the wall in the courtyard adjacent to a garage from the 1930s, the place where the mosaics were then made for the construction and embellishment of the city of Milan, and which still remains a historical memory today. On the wall, painted blue and which forms the background for the flag, 12 starfish are made with the mosaic technique, which recalls the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean, from which the civil, political and cultural history of the West began. This flag therefore becomes a reflection between the air and the earth, between the sky and the sea.

The Well 2021, Performance

In the same courtyard, a fuel tank was buried in the 1960s, a petrol pump used until the 1990s, when it was covered with a concrete manhole cover, on which today the few letters marked on the fresh concrete are difficult to see. As in a game of missing letters, I re-engraved the cement with a chisel, highlighting the letters of the writing according to a hypothetical reconstruction, giving life to a stratification of stories.
