The exhibition and the catalogue (on volume and CD-ROM) bring together the works of fifty international artists and performers produced from the 60s to today, in which the sound is observed as a cultural artifact, used as an instrument of expression, explored as a sphere of aesthetic experience. “Wherever we are, we always hear sounds. If we do not listen to them, they irritate us. If we listen to them, we find them fascinating. The sound of a truck traveling at 50 Km per hour. Radio frequency disturbances. The rain. We want to capture these sounds and control them;  not to use them as sound effects, but as musical instruments. “John Cage.

John Cage.
