It is an ancient question that of art catalogs that do not “show” what is on display but only works photographed in neutral environments. The “Andar X Porte” exhibition catalog does the opposite. The exhibition was organized by the ArtCityLab association in the halls of Palazzo Archinto, where the ancient collection of the Golgi Redaelli and the IPAB Archive was located and where about sixty contemporary artists set up their works in autumn 2017 combining them with the pre-existing works. As Luca Palermo writes in “Artribune”: “That curated by ArtCityLab is an authentic, sincere exhibition, an exhibition that addresses and speaks directly to the viewer inviting him to reflect on himself and on his surroundings, an exhibition for which there is no market stress (a motive that with ever more vehemence affects the contemporary), a research exhibition, a small flash of light in an increasingly gloomy art scene and increasingly driven by the economy rather than by the free and unconditional expression ” .

È una antica questione quella dei cataloghi d’arte che non “mostrano” ciò che si trova in mostra ma solo le opere fotografate in ambienti neutri. Il catalogo della mostra “Andar X Porte” fa il contrario. L’esposizione è stata organizzata dell’associazione ArtCityLab nelle sale di Palazzo Archinto, dove aveva sede la collezione antica del Golgi Redaelli e dell’Archivio IPAB e dove una sessantina di artisti contemporanei hanno allestito nell’autunno del 2017 le proprie opere combinandole con le opere pre-esistenti. Come scrive Luca Palermo su “Artribune”: “Quella curata da ArtCityLab è una mostra autentica, sincera; una mostra che si rivolge e parla direttamente allo spettatore invitandolo a riflettere su sé stesso e su ciò che lo circonda; una mostra per la quale non esiste alcun assillo di mercato (motivo che con sempre più veemenza intacca il contemporaneo); una mostra di ricerca; un piccolo lampo di luce in un panorama artistico sempre più cupo e sempre più guidato dall’economia piuttosto che dall’espressione libera e incondizionata”.
