From a cone loudspeaker, that of the factory, one hears the story of three women interspersed with the typical guttural vocalization, the Sgarida from the Blenio Valley. Its origin lies in communication, protecting the throat by closing it. This sound, has been ritualized over time until it assumed a function of recall and warning among the population. Verbal communication did not take place in a visual way and therefore allowed the creation of an imaginative and intuitive space, without something being presented with too much clarity. If we had walked through the woods some years ago we could have heard the past generations calling each other through the valley with the rich variety of these sounds emitted from the larynx.

Da un altoparlante a tromba, quello delle fabbriche, si ascolta il racconto di tre donne intervallato dalla vocalizzazione gutturale tipica della Valle del Blenio, la Sgarida. La sua origine risiede nella comunicazione effettuata proteggendo la gola chiudendola. Questo suono, nel corso del tempo è stato ritualizzato fino ad assumere fra la popolazione una funzione di richiamo e di avviso. La comunicazione verbale non avveniva in linea visuale e permetteva quindi la creazione di uno spazio immaginativo ed intuitivo, senza che qualcosa venisse presentato con troppa chiarezza. Se avessimo camminato nei boschi molti anni fa avremmo potuto sentire le passate generazioni chiamarsi l’un l’altra attraverso la valle, nell’estrema varietà con la quale questi suoni venivano emessi dalla laringe.
